Green Schools of Rockland

Students learning to recycle

Positive, healthy and purposeful learning environments are essential to the well-being and academic success of students. As part of a collaboration with Rockland Green, Woodglen Elementary School hosted Rockland Green educators Jennifer Sheridan and Jayleen Villegas, who spoke with students about how they can make an impact by broadening the school’s recycling efforts — helping students identify the type of waste and determine what materials should be recycled during lunchtime. The objective of the Green Schools of Rockland Program is to help school districts develop sustainable recycling and waste reduction programs by providing our learners with the knowledge and means to preserve and protect the environment.
